On April 22-23 the V annual conference of the Ukrainian Business Incubators and Innovation Centers Association entitled INTERNATIONAL PRACTICE OF USING INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGIES IN INCREASING EFFICIENCY OF ENTREPRENEURSHIP DEVELOPMENT took place. 

Among organizers were the Ukrainian Business Incubators and Innovation Centers Association and State Committee of Ukraine for Regulatory Policy and Entrepreneurship with support of the Ministry of Economics and European Integration of Ukraine, SPICE Group, State Department of Intellectual Property and National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.

Conference participants: members of the Association, representatives of the Ukrainian Government, state institutions and organizations, representatives of international and foreign associations, business incubators, centers for entrepreneurship support, technoparks, NGOs and business groups of Ukraine, international organizations and programs operating in Ukraine, embassies of several countries.

Conference objectives:

  • Dissemination of up-to-date information and communication technologies, the best national and foreign practices of development of the entrepreneurship support infrastructure.
  • Fostering introduction of information and communication technologies into innovative entrepreneurship environment.
  • Assistance in establishing contacts and business cooperation among business support structures and state structures, international programs of business support in Ukraine, international and national NGOs.

The conference program included:

1. Pre-conference seminar on April 21, 2004 entitled: Use of information and communication technologies in increasing entrepreneurship operation efficiency (ICT in the work of entrepreneurship support structures: management, services, clients).

2. Conference sessions (subject sections):

April 22, 2004

National infrastructure of entrepreneurship support: achievements, ways of development, mechanisms of improvement, success stories

Moderator: Nataliya Kozhevina - President of Ukrainian Business Incubators and Innovation Centres Association

Speakers:

Yuriy Avksentyev - Head of the State Committee of Ukraine for Regulatory Policy and Entrepreneurship,

Olexandra Kuzhel - President of Analytic Center Academy, Adviser of the Head of the National Bank of Ukraine).

As a result the agreement on cooperation was signed between UBICA and State Committee of Ukraine for Regulatory Policy and Entrepreneurship and the ceremony of awarding took place, during which the most outstanding UBICA members obtained golden ensigns and the title of Honorary members of UBICA.

International standards and modern trends of innovation development

Moderator: Vyacheslav Solovyov - Deputy Director of the Dobrov Center for Scientific and Technological Potential and Science History Studies at NAS

Vasyl Tutashynsky - Deputy Head of the Innovational Development Department, Head of the Office of Organization of Technoparks Activity at the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine,

Maryna GIL - Director of Gomel Business Innovation Center.

Information and communication technologies as a tool of strengthening innovation support infrastructures
